El Al Receives "Freddie" for its Frequent Flyer Bonus Promotion on Israel Flights

New York , NY (PRWEB) May 31, 2008 -- El Al, Israel's national airline, and the main operator of flights to Israel (http://www.elal.co.il/ELAL/English/States/General/), is proud to announce that it was recently voted as having the "Best Bonus Promotion in 2007" at the 20th Annual Freddie Awards, held on April 24, 2008, in Wyndham, Phoenix.

In the winning promotion, El Al Frequent Flyer Matmid Club members received 20 percent extra Matmid points, when they transferred their points from credit card partners (including American Express Membership Rewards®, and Diners Club International) to their El Al Matmid Club account. The points are redeemable on flights to Israel (http://www.elal.co.il/ELAL/English/States/General/).

El Al was also included in the Freddie Awards' top five list of frequent flyer clubs that provide the best customer service and the best service for "elite level" club members.

"We are delighted that our frequent flyer program has received a high level of approval by the frequent travelers that we serve, and we will continue to introduce highly appealing offers on flights to Israel, which will benefit our loyal passengers," said Gracie Ninger, supervisor of El Al's USA Matmid Club.

The annual Freddie Awards program, in which more than 600,000 frequent flyers vote for their favorite frequent flyer programs, was introduced in 1988 by InsideFlyer Magazine, and is composed of nine award categories.

A current El Al Frequent Flyer promotion provides Matmid Club members with additional gift points (200) when transferring American Express Membership Rewards® (84,000) into their Matmid account. These combined points are enough for a roundtrip economy class ticket on nonstop El Al Israel flights (http://www.elal.co.il/ELAL/English/States/General/) from New York (JFK/Newark) or Miami. The promotion is available through to June 15, 2008.
